Mr. Bonneteau's letter regarding Remote Learning

Happy new year to you, family and friends. I have a few things to share with you about what will be occurring during our remote learning for students starting January 10th to 14th. In-class learning is said to resume on the 17th, with schools being in Critical Orange.

Attached is a letter from the division explaining the process schools will be following in terms of remote learning guidelines, provincial websites and what to do if your child is sick. As well, for those that have applied to have rapid test kits, the division will be receiving them by tomorrow. Contact will be made for what is the best way to receive them.

I have attached the K-6 remote timetable. The intent was to try and minimize multiple use of technology with several students in a home at one time. However, if this still does occur, all lessons (1-12) will be recorded during synchronous learning so that students can watch them at a later time. As well, I have attached the critical service worker form if you need. If you have already completed one, you do not need to do another. Contact will be made tomorrow for those who have already have the forms completed.

Grades 7-12 will be following their timetable for this remote learning period. There will be 20 min. + time for lessons given with the rest of the time being used for individual work and asking questions from their teacher.

It is expected that all students attend or watch the instructional videos, and complete all assigned work.

Attendance will still be taken, so please let your teachers know if your child is unable to attend during their instruction time by contacting the office.

Here is a link to a video explaining the basics of Microsoft Teams that you may want to check out. If you need support on TEAMS or student email, please contact the office.

K-6 teachers will be in contact will be sending out an email to provide further information. For grades 7-12, please ensure your child(ren) is in contact with their teacher(s) to ensure TEAMS is working for them.

I believe that is everything for now. Take care and thank you so much for your continued support and understanding during these unprecedented times.
